The state of Alabama is located in the southeastern region of the United Sates of America. Its neighboring states are Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Gulf of Mexico and Mississippi.
The state owns the nick names ‘Heart of Dixie’ and ‘Yellowhammer State’, derived from the state bird. Like many Southern states, Alabama has suffered economic hard time during American Civil War and World War II. Only until the 1960s did the state transitioned from agriculture to heavy manufacturing industries which contributed to the economic growth.
Currently, Alabama is part of the biggest industrial growing state across America. The headquarters of major automobile manufacturers like Honda Manufacturing, Hyendai Motor, Mercedes Benz International and Toyota Motor are all located in Alabama. Other industries that can be found in Alabama are mineral extraction, technology, military installations and education.
Alabama has humid subtropical climate, which means that summers are hot, with an average temperature of 32 °C and winters are in general milder, while temperatures are tend to be warmer in the southern region of the state. The state is impacted by tropical storms, hurricanes and hails. An average of 70 to 80 days annually are reported with thunder in the southern region.

The biggest airport in the Alabama state is in Birminghham. Alabama is also accessible by 5 interstate highways while trains are running from New Orleans to Washington D.C. and New York City going via Alabama at Anniston, Birmingham and Tuscaloosa.

Birmingham is the largest city in terms of population in Alabama. The city was found right after the American Civil War in 1871. Huntsville
Huntsville is the biggest city in the state in terms of land area. It has some historical districts, like the Twickenham Historic District, Old Town and Five Point Historic District which worth a visit. Other attractions including the Big Spring Park, Huntville Botanical Garden etc.
Other cities in Alabama include Mobile, the oldest city founded by French colonists; Montgornery, the capital city, Tuscaloosa, Decatur, Florence-Muscle, Dothan etc.
