The Grand Canyon State, Arizona
Arizona is best known for its desert climate as well as desert langscape full of cactus. From middle to southern Arizona, the desert climate brings mild winters and very hot summers. Temperature in winter is typically around 4-24°C, while having 32-49°C in summer is nothing unusual. Humidity is low and the daily day-and-night temperature difference can be as big as 28 °C in summer months. Compare to central and southern Arizona, the northern third of the state located at higher altitudes and therefore milder summers and colder winters.

The Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon is one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World, dominating the Northern Arizona landscape. Grand Canyon is a colorful steep-sided gorge, carved by the Colorado River over millions of years. Stretching 277 miles across the high plateaus, ranges in width from 6 to 29 km) and a depth of more than 1.6 km.
The Canyon features three or four eras of geological time as well several layers of sediment and fossil records, several variety rock types, numerous caves and several major ecosystems.
Getting there
Arizona has two major airports, namely Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and the Tucson international Airport, serving both international and domestic flights. Other four regional airports are available within the state serving domestic flights.
All parts of Arizona are accessible by highways. The State is also well connected by highway to all its neighboring states. Bus and trains provide services connecting the cities within the state.

Phoenix is the capital as well as the largest city in Arizona. Phoenix has become the region’s primary political, cultural, economic, and transportation center. The Pueblo Grande Museum and Archaeological Park, the U.S.’s only city-operated archaeological site, is located in Phoenix.
