Idaho, the Gem States and Winter Sports Hub in America
Idaho, a mountainous state located in the Pacific northwest area of the United States. The state is the 14th largest state in America and is surrounded completely by land only. The neighboring states are Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Montana and British Columbia, a Canadian Province. Idaho is also known as the Gem State, as you can find almost all sorts of existing gems within the state.
Idahoans, the residence in Idaho enjoy different climate variations across seasons. Idaho in general have hot yet relatively low humidity summers, while winters could be cold but rarely have extremely bitter weather. The famous and oldest ski resort in North American, the Sun Valley, is located in Idaho, where the world’s first chairlift was built. Idaho attracts loads of visitors to come for winter sports every year.
Getting there
The Boise Airport located in Boise, and the Spokane International Airport in Spokane, Washington, are the 2 major airports serving the state of Idaho. Unlike most states in America, Idaho does not own a very well developed major highway system connecting the major cities within the state. The best way to get within the state is by train, which also connects the state with Seattle, Portland, Spokane, Minneapolis and Chicago.

Boise
Boise is the state capital and at the same time the biggest city in Idaho. It is also known as the Boise city, is located on the Boise River.
Like most cities in Idaho, Boise is a major sports hub. You can find a wide range of sports facilities available, not to mention is winter sport. The Bogus Basin ski area, which is within an hour’s drive from city center, offers winter activities like skiing, snowboarding etc.
Other attractions in Boise including the Julia Davis Park Zoo, the World Center for Birds of Prey and the Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts within the Boise State University.
Idaho Falls
Idaho Fall is the largest city in Eastern Idaho. It is the home to the Museum of Idaho with Tokai-Mura, Japan as its sister city.
Other cities are Nampa, Pocatello, Meridian, Caldwell, Coeur d’Alene, Lewiston, Twin Falls, etc.
