The state of Kansas situates in the midwestern region of the United States. The state is bordered by Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma and Colorado. The Kansas River flows through the state and indeed the state is named after the Kansa tribe, which means ‘People of the south wind’. Nowadays, Kansas is one of the most agriculturally productive states, with main produces being crops, wheat, sorghum and sunflowers.

Kansas is among the top 10 most sunny states in U.S, especially western Kansas where can be as sunny as California. The state has 3 different climate zones, but in general, summers are hot and less humid while winters climates can be highly changeable between mild and cold. There is 1 airport in Wichita serving the state’s air traffic, another convenient way to get to Kansas is to use the airport Missouri. You can also get the Kansas by train, which goes across east to west of the state, connecting Kansas City, Lawrence, Topeka, Newton, Hutchinson, Dodge City and Garden City, as well as Chicago and Los Angeles. There are 2 major highways through the state as well.

Wichita is the biggest city in Kansas, also known as the ‘Air Capital of the World’ since the larger number of aerospace firms located there. When visiting the city, do not miss the Old Town area, where the Museum of World Tresures, Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum and the Great Plains Transportation Museum is located.

Lawrence currently has the strongest art, music and bar scenes. It is also the home of the University of Kansas. The university itself is a historical site, and are on the National Register of Historic places.
