New Mexico – the Mixed-Cultural State of Hispanic, Mexican and Native American in USA

New Mexico is one of the 50 states in America, located in the southwestern region. It is the 6th most sparsely populated state across the United States. New Mexico was a Spanish and then Mexican colony until the Mexican War in the 1840s. Currently, New Mexico still has the highest percentage of Hispanic populations among all other states, which contributes to the unique mixed of culture of Hispanic, Mexican and Native American.

New Mexico has a lot of mountains, high plains as well as deserts. The average precipitation rate is only 9 inches per year. The arid climate in New Mexico brings very hot summer in the lower elevations while winters are mild but tougher in the mountain areas.
